Comments: Working the dense shrub-covered and leaf-littered hillside leading down to the pond. Bird was quiet. It gave a few VERY soft song phrases only once while hidden on the hillside, but later, finally blasted out its churry-churry-churry-churry-churry phrase 3-4 times quite loudly while spending time on the opposite side of the pond working a couple of small bushes and the stone culvert. There appears to be some kind of worthwhile food being picked by many different species of warbler out of the moss covering the cement bridge. The Kentucky warbler however was having none of this exposed food source. It preferred to stay under cover of the various leafy plants and only emerged briefly into the open. Patience required. If you visit by car, adhere to Mt. Auburn Rules: keep wheels on pavement, NOT grass or dirt - let's leave no trace.
