72F at start, partly cloudy, sustained northerly/northwesterly wind at 10-15 mph. Light rain for about a minute at 5:15 p.m. followed by some clearing. I walked around the entire lake. I started by walking east along the south shore, and I observed the aqueduct to the north as far as 200 feet north of the bridge. Significant presence of Painted Lady butterflies.

Comments: As I observed from the north side of the lake a group of four White-faced Ibises on the north side of the largest island, a group of 59 arrived from the east. They flew above Highway 138 and passed me as they flew lower and lower. I encountered most of them on a small sandy island to the west. As I observed them, a group of 111 arrived from the east. Most of these joined the group I was observing.
