Comments: The Pied Bushchat is a small passerine bird found in South and Southeast Asia as well as New
Guinea. The male of this species has a black plumage and the female has a brownish plumage. The immatures look like the adult male but they have spots and streaks in the front part of their body and the immatures have a lighter colour when compared to the adult male. These birds are mainly insect eaters and forage on the ground. These birds thrive in Ooty and I got this short from our hotel.

These birds are very common in towns in the hill stations of India. These birds forage in flocks and are omnivores that eat grains like Rice and Wheat as well as insects like locusts and beetles. They forage in flocks of up to 15 birds or even more. They nest on tree holes, pipes and roofs.
