Gull roost watch from the N beach. Very high numbers of gulls, unusually high numbers of HERG. Highlighted by finding a Herring x Lesser Black-backed Hybrid, a first for Norfolk co. Surprised by the fact that I *only* had one ICGU and LBBG.

Submitted from eBird for iOS, version 1.8.15

  11. Herring x Lesser Black-backed Gull (hybrid)

    Number observed: 1

Comments: *very rare, first Norfolk co. record of this hybrid in ebird. Adult bird. Structurally the bird was more similar to a HEGU than a LBBG. Bulkier and overall larger than a LBBG would be. However, the mantle was intermediate between LBBG and HEGU. Furthermore, the legs of the bird had a flesh, peachy color. My attempts of photos in the rapidly fading light were fruitless.
