Birded partly by vehicle along road from about mile 16.4 to gate at mile 17.3, birded on foot past gate for about 1/4 mile and circled back, mostly sunny and light winds slowly increasing, got to watch Common Hog-nosed Skunk foraging as well as grooming itself for about 10 to 15 minutes

    Comments: Female plumaged birds seen as they fed high in an ash tree 150 yds downstream from gate (west bank), distinctive facial pattern eliminated HOFI, smudgy markings in breast, lack of any eye ring, and relatively short primary projection seem to eliminate the more expected CAFI, pics of both birds:

    Comments: lots of good brushy habitat including netleaf hackberry for this species
