Was joined briefly toward the end by Rob Denholtz, Dika Golavatchoff, and John McIntire. The Cackling and Greater White-fronted Geese that have been here were not present, which makes me suspicious that it was they I saw flying west over the Carpinteria Salt Marsh Nature Park on Friday, 2018-12-07.

Comments: At the time I saw this bird I thought it was a Spotted Sandpiper, but was bothered by the fine spotting on the upperparts and the lack of tail bobbing. After consulting references and getting a second opinion I've changed the ID to Solitary Sandpiper.
