Red-naped/Red-breasted Sapsucker

Seen clearly, unfortunately did not have camera. Seen initially climbing up small deciduous tree, hanging over small marsh, then moved up into taller evergreen tree. Extensive black and white markings on back, (not barring as on Yellow-bellied Sapsucker); upper back feathers with brownish tinge. Throat bright red, well demarcated, not extending down to breast at all. Top of head red, but not as clearly seen as the throat (this was not seen from back, but from later side view). Black stripe through eye, with white stripe above and below. Lower white stripe extended around red throat and down to breast. Vertical white patch on folded wing. Did not vocalize. I think this was most likely a red-naped sapsucker.
