Very large tern, bigger than Ring-billed Gull with more pointed wings. Huge bright red bill, black underside to wing tips, mottled black and white cap, white underparts, pale gray upperparts. Flew east to west along the beach before continuing north. Will add photos eventually.

Heard. Sharp, liquid, fast “pip-pip-pip.” First heard and identified by Terry Walsh in the same area where he had seen one a few days ago. We looked for it but couldn’t find it.
