Surprising late season sighting - likely a straggler? Not often seen at Reed's Lake.
Bird was seen perched at very top of a dead tree on the south side of the boardwalk. Observed for about 15-20 minutes with binoculars under good conditions.
Bird would occasionally leave tree and return - several times with a visible catch (likely an insect) in its bill.
Bird had characteristic field marks: short tail, white areas on lower back (these were visible when bird first sighted as it had its back to us), sides of breast coming together to form a "vest" with a whitish line down the middle of breast.
There was also a Phoebe hanging around, which provided a useful size comparison (Phoebe was smaller), with smaller head).
