Semipalmated Plover

Dunlin

Thanks to Chris Neri for help in identification; still a bit unsure of myself when it comes to some of the shorebirds. The Baird's and Dunlin stayed together for about half on hour, mostly in the pond on the point, on the eastern end of the pond. When they finally flew to get around me, one of them gave a call that I would describe as "wee-deep weep weep", with the last two notes lower in pitch.

2
Bald Eagle

Watched one immature bird come in low along the shoreline from the south, scare the two hundred or so gulls that were laying low on the beach (it was a pretty windy morning), land on the beach away from the gulls, hop back in up into the breeze, then land and hop back up a few more times. Then maybe 20 or 30 minutes later take off again, scaring all the gulls once more.
