Seen in locust ravine near the Lincoln's Sparrow. I used 10X42 binoculars from about 30 feet. Black hood, breast and upperparts. White belly. Pink bill. White outer tail feathers well seen when it flew. This is our familiar slate colored subspecies, just a little early.
