Comments:
PAS walk, from main (sports field) parking lot south on lower trail, across dam, to Altadena Drain, where we lingered for a while. To return, we walked west across dam and took upper trail through oaks northbound. Marine layer moved in just after walk started and lingered through 10:00 or so, making conditions very pleasant much of the time -- cool, moderate humidity, winds light. Warming quickly at the end. Water was limited to only a trickle at Berkshire Creek and a small pond and puddles at Altadena Drain, with the latter very active with birds. Extensive, thick willow forest in southern end of basin, for now at least.

Northern Waterthrush

at Altadena Drain, the small pond at the southeast corner of the basin. Walking on ground, bobbing its tail, much of the time while in view. Occasionally calling (like a loud Nashville Warbler). Streaky throat rules out Louisiana Waterthrush. Photos by several in the group. First noticed by J. Long.
