Earliest August shoreline record. Aug. 23, 2001 was the other Aug. record I have at the shoreline. Seen flying to the east from Mt. Trashmore. It was a female and was also fairly dark. The tail was banded but the bands were not easy to see. Did not fly like a kestrel. Rather low and direct flight.
