old world quail sp.

Probably Stubble Quail. Inexperienced with the species. Flushed a quail richer collared brown more towards rufous than what I know for Brown Quail. Light eye stripe visible in flight. Dropped down tail first, as described in P & K app for Stubble Quail.

Flock on south east side of the lagoon, feeding on paddock, counted at least 50 birds. Distinguished by call, did not hear Australian Raven calling from the flock. Likely same flock as reported 1.5 weeks earlier on birdline NSW. Judging on the amount of calls at least 15 birds where Little's, the others most likely too, but are reported below as crow/raven sp.

crow/raven sp.

see comment under Little Raven, probably these were all Little's, but it could have been a mixed flock, the flock was a bit too distant to rule that out.
