Take the trail from the Interpretive Center out to the bay. It was seen about 2/3 of the way towards the San Mateo Bridge, in line with the second light standard over water. The tide was high and incoming. Only a small amount of mudflat was exposed.

A large dark alcid. The only other birds were 2 scaup which were larger. Also had a fairly large bill and a short, thick neck.
