Gnatcatchers doing burry downward trill, led us on a merry chase. Finally stopped long enough to confirm id. Younger one had faint black cap and darkish undertail. Other one had dark gray cap and darkish gray undertail, probably female. I expect that darkness of habitat and lighting made undertails look darker than white but voices were right on.
