Barred Owl

One Barred Owl started hooting, not far from the trail at 4:45 pm. I didn't see it. After a few minutes it started to do 'excited monkey-like hoots' (as described by my Stokes Guide). Another Barred in the distance started to hoot, in reply, immediately. They called back and forth for about 7 minutes.
