Part 2. Paddled up the west side of the new hope arm towards the shallows, then started up new hope creek. Only counted birds on the way out, not the return trip. Created separate checklist (part 3) for birds seen/heard while exploring the Durham county part of the creek and lake later in the morning (https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S47076258). Lake at 215.4. Strong wind from the north. Perfect temperature, mid 60s to mid 70s.

Roseate Spoonbill

Unmistakeable pink birds, flushed in the cove just south of the power line cove. Flew north into Durham county and landed about .5 miles away, at the far northern shore of the lake.
