Black-bellied Plover

From great distance, the bird was clearly a larger plover. We worked our way closer and were able to determine it was a Black-bellied Plover. Mostly basic plumaged bird with thick large black plover bill. Adam noted that it was a bit early but not unheard of at this date.

Piping Plover

Seen on point inside protective cage placed over nest with state/federal "guard" watching over the nest. Adam informed me that this wildlife agent stays with the birds all summer to make sure there is no disturbance to the nest.
