some sightings along the I-80 frontage road and some on the road that goes east from the Wahsatch exit

they must be nesting in the area, since they're at several of the ponds

looked like 1 adult and 2 chicks at nest - not the same big nest as last year, but a different one (almost as big) farther north and west

this one was watching over things from a nearby ridge

nesting in the sage all along the road that goes east from I-80 - very vocal

heard it from the car as I drove east from I-80, just a few hundred yards from the freeway - thought it was a Sage Thrasher at first, but quickly realized what it was - long-tailed gray bird perched on sage - faint wing stripes and tail stripes


until it flew up (maybe to catch bugs?), then white wing patch and stripes on sides of tail were visible
