Heard immediately upon getting out of my car. Easily located and identified an exposed singing male on territory within 10 minutes. This is a known location for this species, utilizing the mid-dune zone, open dune grass with scattered shrubs and small trees. Distinctive black and yellow facial/cheek marks and unique black streaking restricted in a narrow area of the sides along the wings and up the side of the neck.

1
Northern Cardinal
