Common Loon

Really unexpected this time of year! Distant looks at long trailing legs, long neck/head, and long pointy wings gave unmistakable loon silhouette. Underside light, neck and head solid dark, neck held relatively level, bulging lower belly (Peterson Seawatching book says this is distinctive for COLO or YBLO). See highly cropped photos. The bird was flying north up the main lake body and then turned towards the mason creek arm, flying around tree-level.
