Near the visitor center are communal posts with 3 levels of platforms of nests. They are full but I am not counting those. Along the trail we hiked, we found 4 nests in an area with dead fall on the east side of one of the ponds. Each nest had 2-3 large chicks on them. One adult flew in after about 5 minutes but we did not observe feed any of the chicks. The chicks did get rather noisy when the adult showed up - even in the other nests (all the nests were within a 30 foot area.
