Continuing. Thanks to Joy for leading me to the remarkably large, pendulous nest for such relatively small birds. Eventually we saw the male fly out of the nest and return quickly and perch briefly beside the nest before going back inside (about 5-6 times). Small bird with the upright posture of a flycatcher; black crown; whitish chin; rosey-red throat surrounded by white with a pale grey demarcating wash immediately below the rose throat; whitish-grey belly; ventral tail a darker greyish-brown; all grey uppersides; dark bill. Much farther along trail than i had explored previously on my own, more like 0.8 miles from parking area on Bridge Rd, rather than the 0.25-0.3 miles I was told before.
