Small sparrow with a weak, insect-like call. Clear, orangy breast. Light stripe down top of head. Dark dot behind eye.

Colorful sparrows with neatly striped breasts and yellow lores. Singing in open areas, often perched on sagebrush or old mullein. Song has a couple chirps, a long, strong buzz and a two more chirps. Conservative count.
