Loggerhead Shrike

Hanging around the woods in the forbidden area the east end of the Point. Also seen near the tower in the native planting area. Obvious shrike - medium sized long tailed gray and black passerine with thick, prominent black mask. Bill short, stubby, and black. White patch in wings and white tips to tail tail feathers.

Bell's Vireo

Small, plain vireo with unstreaked whitish underparts, yellowish sides, olive upperparts, darker wings with thin white wing bar on greater coverts, faint whitish spectacles, and thick, stubby vireo bill. Seen in the peripheral plantings on the northeast side of the Point near the sidewalk and beach. Not heard.
