450

Clouds and clouds of tree swallows (dark backs with blue-green iridescence, white undersides, pointed wings). I didn't count them all, but thought 450 was a good, conservative estimate.

Small, orangy sparrow with clear breast and dark spot behind eye. Singing from the tops of sagebrush bushes. Call is a weak, insect-like buzz preceded by a couple very quiet chips. Got one in the scope and had good looks at it. Heard the other three calling in the same area. Savannah sparrows calling in area for comparison.

Savannah sparrows were making themselves very obvious, singing from tops of old mullein flowers and chasing each other around in aerial battles. Streaky-breasted sparrows. Yellow lores. Call consists of a couple chips, a long buzz, and two more chips.
