Returned to north end of pond and Hawk Watching Platform to observe birds working the bushes below. Activity was largely limited to Yellow-rumped Warblers and House Finches. Shifted attention to birds flying in from the east (mostly vultures) when we spotted the Swallow-tailed Kite.

Swallow-tailed Kite

Spotted flying in from the east behind a number of vultures. The bird dropped below the vultures and circled north. White body and head underneath. Pointed wings that were white toward the upper edges, tipped in black with the black running along the back edges of the wings. Black forked tail. The bird showed all black on the upper side when it wheeled northward, except for the white head.

Are you submitting a complete checklist of the birds you were able to identify?
