Very far out in the middle of the section of a recently burned area by Pool 5. Solar rays were not helping either. Tall, skinny sandpiper with high and upright gait, short bill, and yellow legs. The overall gestalt of the sandpiper points towards the Buff-breasted as well, according to Sibley's. There were two more individuals close by.

Counted 8 individuals at first then as I was looking at my pictures, I saw there were a few more hiding in the prairie dog holes.

Small prairie dog town southwest of pool 5 was holding a surprising number of owls.
