Three large birds with deep, powerful wingbeats spotted flying north across Airport Road. Initial thoughts were a species of goose or swan, based off of size and white plumage, but we quickly found that the birds were far too massive for geese, and too short-necked for swans. Over the brief seconds spent trying to identify and photograph the birds, black primaries, extremely stubby tails, lack of long necks, and monstrous bills were noted. Poorly photographed from the car, out of sight by the time we pulled over. Contrast was raised in photos to show dark primaries, light secondaries, and robust body.
