While unsuccessfully looking for the reported N. Saw-whet Owl near the end of "Nutting's Wash" we were delighted to have encountered this seldom seen species. This vireo was foraging in a tall juniper. The features on this bird were a gray upper parts and whitish lower parts, distinct white eye-rings, faint pale lores, faint single wingbars, and long tailed. Before the Gray Vireo appeared, we had already observed a Plumbeous Vireo (with distinct white wing bars and strong white spectacles) in the same tree!
