Snow/Ross's Goose

Resting in field with about 10 Canada Geese. I missed seeing this bird initially while driving east on Gotham Rd. I stopped about 100-200 yards farther down the road and saw it with the CAGOs when I looked back. In direct comparison to CAGOs it was much smaller, much closer to the size of a Mallard than a CAGO. It was all white with black primaries. Its crown was rounded and it had a stubby pinkish bill with some bluish at the base. I couldn't see a grin patch and I couldn't make out the shape of the interface between the base of the bill and feathering (whether vertical or concave). Watched from about 200 yds away, 20x eyepiece on my scope. I suspect this is the continuing ROGU that has been reported recently at Fish Point.

Mostly in the field on S side of Gotham Rd, close to the farm at first rd east of Ringle, when I left. This may be an underestimate considering the total reported 1 day prior. Difficult to estimate a total when you first count the birds north of the tower, and next count swans in the fields along Gotham when many of the birds left the marsh to the north and joined the birds along Gotham!
