Wind E, light, shifting W, clear and sunny with temperature rising to 17C/62F. 30 minute sea watch from Rodeo Beach followed by a circuit of the main lagoon. Mammals of 2 River Otters in the main lagoon and several California Sea Lions offshore near the green buoy.

Three present initially and another 18 flew in in various groups, with 12 leaving E up Rodeo Valley mid-morning. High count for this location.

Main lagoon, including 2 males

A massive flock off Rodeo Beach. Initially a raft 500+ present offshore which were then joined by a large flock of 1,500+ which flew in from the south having been flushed by a small fishing boat hugging the coastline.

Singles seen in flight with the massive Surf Scoter flock. Seemed to land NW of Rodeo Beach with the Surf Scoters.
