Found on Long Curve Road in the area of farm equipment. Buteo appeared to be light adult male as belly markings were more uniform, dark patches under the wing really stood out in flight. There were several birds in the area (TUVU & NOHA). Tom was taking pictures and hopes the RLHA is among them.

hawk sp.

This hawk was observed through a spotting scope (60x) on Long Curve Rd near the farm equipment shortly after entering from Milltail. It was very difficult to view through the weedy brush and never flew. The pictures below are heavily cropped and sharpened to help bring out any detail. The light head and upper throat have us hoping for the Swainson's Hawk previously reported in the area. Will the eBird reviewer from this sector please contact me if my suspicions are correct.
