Observed about 10 a.m. for about 30 minutes in the area of Liebers Point, just west of the boat launch area. Sitting in trees; wary when approached. Medium-sized hawk seen flying; Used a scope to view the bird. Noted features: whitish head; red eye; gray dorsal side; white tail and underside; black comma-shaped shoulder patch; rare bird form sent to NOU Rare Bird Committee. Reported as a rare bird later that day.
