  5. Yellow-bellied x Red-naped Sapsucker (hybrid)

    Number observed: 1

Comments: YBSA x RNSA, seems to have a wide supercilium for a RNSA, a total lack of red in throat; but is molting out of juvenile plumage, has a slight red nape, and a intermediate looking back. This mix of characters has landed me on a hybrid ID. Let me know if there is disagreement.

Comments: Many bluebirds foraging in the fields. There may have been more but 11 is the highest count that I am confident in. All that I could firmly ID were western and I saw no evidence that there were eastern bluebirds mixed in. At least ten western bluebirds have been seen in the area within the past month split between the Golf Course and Bud Walker park.
