Large owl flying away from us. Given the size it may have been a Great Horned Owl but we were not able to confirm this.

Black head and back with barred sides, hammering on and peeling bark from a red pine. Spotted about 300 meters beyond the park gate.

Observed 2 flocks of crossbills moving in the tops of pines and away from us but not able to positively identify which crossbills they were.
