Observed at a feeder at the Nature Station. Similar in shape and size to Ruby-throated hummingbird we have here in KY. Throat was black and tail was dark.

Observed at a feeder along a trail in scrubby small shrubs and trees. Crown and throat were deep purple but appeared black at times. Coloration extended down sides to a point.
