1
Long-billed Curlew

Scoped a very large shorebird with extremely long and decurved bill, towering over nearby turnstones. Mike said he expected it to be a MAGO until it turned and he saw the bill. In flight, heard calling diagnostic 'cur-lee' call. Mike and I both heard it call and said 'curlew' at the same time.

1
Western/Eastern Wood-Pewee

** Rare. We believe this is a strong candidate for Western Wood-Pewee. Note overall very dark coloration (especially breast), wing bars (upper much lighter than lower), and posture (tail in line with back). The latter is consistent across photos. Did not vocalize. Will submit to the record's committee.
