1	Painted Bunting Wow! Brilliant adult male, no question as to ID. Spotted earlier in the morning. No one else around when I relocated it around 11:30 AM in the brushy, weedy area down dirt path, right before railway crossing, where a small secondary path on left opens into an overgrown field. Associating loosely with Song Sparrows and Goldfinches, among grasses, occasionally flying to perch on nearby trees. Very active, vocal, chipping sporadically but clearly. Have audio. Unmistakable. Note: watch out for train! It went by while I was there. I spoke to one woman who works there who has no problem with birders visiting. But we should all respect the site, stay on roads and off fields themselves, and it's a good idea to patronize the great little farm-stand on the property while you're there.
