At Pelican Beach: Always a good spot for COTE in September. Slightly more delicate-looking especially in head size and thinner bill than nearby Forster's. Similar colors to Forster's Terns, but with white foreheads, black crowns from above eye completely down nape. (Forster's had almost completely adopted non-breeding plumage with white napes.) Blackish carpal bar. Dusky legs or dark reddish rather than bright tomato-red.
