Comments: This Kingbird flushed from the back of trees on the western side of the parking area and flew to a small tree on the other side of the little lagoon. At first I thought WEKI but I looked at it more I realized the bill was proportionately too big for WEKI. It had a greenish wash at the top of the breast like the TRKI I saw in Palm Beach County on 11.12.15. I didn't hear it vocalize. It was suggested that I enter this as a TRKI/COKI. I researched it thoroughly and the subtle differences between TRKI and COKI are that Couch's has a shorter fatter bill than the Tropical with a more arched culmen and the Tropical has a more deeply notched tail. This bird has a very long bill with a straight culmen and even though the photos are of a lateral view, the tail is deeply notched. Tropical is the most likely choice for Florida. Very cool bird! Comments: I flushed this bird from the grass while walking back on the beach path. I tried to photograph it as it flew across but my camera didn't focus but I saw the yellow-gold throat and face and very straight Culmen . The bird flew into the grass and I took a couple more photos and it tucked way in so I couldn't see it. I was 15-20 feet away at that point so I backed away. I never saw it emerge again. Photos are diagnostic
