Perched adult, hidden among riparian trees, flushed ahead of us on trail. Black buteo with broad white band on tail. Wings seemed broad though, tail fanned showed really obvious wide white band.

Previously reported, seen in the last couple of days. Flew along path before the creek junction. Excellent views, although only in flight, as it approached, flew overhead, and I turned to watch it continue flying at just below treetop level heading toward the creek junction. Tyrannus, dark-backed and light-fronted, larger than nearby WEKI, with a humongous black bill that was very obvious in flight.
