Seen with Least, and Western Sandpipers, for comparison. The bill was short and straight, the cap was dark with a hint of rufous, with dark auriculars, and lores, giving this bird a mean look, compared to the other birds. Very fine rufous edges on back feathers at close range, unlike westerns, which had heavy rufous on scapulars.
