Comments: Looks like small dark gull. Tip of bill hooked, light barring on back. This bird has been reported as a parasitic jaeger. I spoke with the area reviewer who stated that some experts were questioning that identification and thought it was most likely a long-tailed jaeger. Hearing this I opened my Sibley's and after carefully going over the illustrations of both species I believe that it looks more like a long-tailed jaeger rather than parasitic. The white barring under the tail and the contrast of the markings on the back lead me that conclusion. Specifically this looks like a dark juvenile long-tailed jaeger.
