cormorant sp.

This bird first caught my attention due to it's size. Possible Neotropic found at the south end of the Banana on the lake side. Viewed from shore approx.120 ft out sitting in the water. We were able to get our scopes on the bird for only a few minutes. A lone small Cormorant, about the size of a Mallard (approx. 2/3 size of a DCCO). All black/dark bird with a darker bill and slight yellowish tinge near the bill base. The bill appeared shorter than DCCO as well. Before we could try to digiscope pics the bird flew from there towards the open interior water south of Humphries/South causeway. Again, the bird was noticeably smaller than a DCCO with a proportional wingspan, showing dark above and below. However, the tail did not appear long enough for a Neotropic. We tried to relocate the bird for over an hour with no luck.
