Individuals and flocks of up to 40 individuals foraging on shore and moving past (mostly N to S). Most in non-breeding plumage, some with extensive red. Conservative count, likely more than this. On North Beach and island immediately offshore.

On island off North Beach, initially well to the north of North Point, but walked (looking for food?) slowly until immediately opposite the point. Very large gull, white overall. Flight feathers and coverts on both wings abraded, but primaries still present were entirely white. Iris clear yellowish and orbital ring also appeared pale. Bill heavy and pink, with a dark smudge near tip (2nd/3rd-cycle?). Likely the same bird reported last month to the North by R. Kling and B. Cochrane (based on photos of that bird).
