These guys seem to be taking over the mudflats closer to Wading Bird Way as the Semi Sandpipers gradually leave. At one point all nine were together in one group, which was a cool sight.

Small sandpipers, just a little bit bigger than the few Semipalmated Sandpipers that were around. Distinctly longer primaries compared to the Semis. Fine dark stippling on the chest (and visible on the flanks on some birds). Much smaller than the Pectorals (one of which came in and joined their group momentarily). One bird raised its wings in aggression toward another and showed its clean white rump.

The largest sandpipers on the mudflats by far. About twice the size of the White-rumps. I'd never noticed before how similar their overall plumage is to that of a White-rump, with the fine stippling on the chest. But these birds were much larger than the White-rumps and Semipalmateds, with longer legs and neck. One bird was hanging out with the group of White-rumps, and the other two were way off in the distance to the west.
