First seen feeding in short grass near the amphitheatre and flushed to the benches there. First thoughts were a Longspur but too buffy for a Lapland. Light but noticeable eye ring, dark triangle framing a white spot on auriculars, strong white supercilium and malar, darkish crown, nape lightly streaked going into heavy streaking upper side and wings, wings had a slight look of white wingbars with no rufous noticed. Underside uniform buffy with light streaking heavier in the breast. Outer tail feathers showed white when flushed, darkish legs. unable to get decent looks at the undertail coverts. Called a few times when flushed but hearing not great and difficult for me to get a decent read on it. More photos available if needed. State record committee review bird, will submit documentation for their review.
