Weather quite variable; cold with light rain at times, warms and partly sunny at others. Crazy winds and pouring rain arrived shortly before we left.
Covered quite a bit of territory: entrance road, VC area, Finis, Allee House. Andy and I walked the boardwalk trail after everyone else had left.
With Andy Ednie, Dave, and Howard.
Two-lifer day!!!

Somewhat like a larger, prettier chipping sparrow with bright red cap. Breast spot very distinct. Lifer #292!

*LATE. With first OCWA on Whitehall Neck Rd. I only caught a glimpse of the bright yellow breast through the bush, but other experienced birders saw it well enough to confirm.

** RARE. One on Whitehall Neck Rd. Just outside refuge (in bush across the road from the 45 mph speed limit sign. The other in restricted area. Rather drab greenish warblers with yellow underparts and eye arcs. Chris Rowe attached photo on his checklist. Chip note rather like Cape May, but a bit lower. Lifer #291!
